POSITION TITLE
Elementary Youth Coach—Grades 2-4
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate preferred.
- High School Diploma required.
- Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certificate.
- Experience and/or knowledge in the sport.
- Great with elementary students.
REPORTS TO
Youth Sports Site Coordinator
JOB GOAL
To help each participating student-athlete achieve opportunities to play an active role, enjoy, and fulfilling each player’s need to strive in their academics, athletics, and well-being.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coaches athletes in the skills necessary for successful participation in the youth sports program.
- Plans, schedules, and carries out a regular program of practice.
- Works closely with youth sports site coordinator in scheduling seasonal sports, activities, and games.
- Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
- Maintains necessary attendance forms and similar paperwork.
- Oversees safety conditions of the facility or area in which sport is always conducted where students are present.
- Always enforces sportsmanlike behavior and team rules as established and disciplines athletes for breach of such standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Seasonal position depending on the sport and salary is addendum contract. The Governing Board will establish salary and work year.
EVALUATION
The coach will be evaluated by the youth sports site coordinator and principal. The evaluation will be based upon the degree of effective performance of the job description responsibilities.
